DISTRICT 8

 

WHAT IS A DISTRICT?

An Al-Anon District is made up of all the groups in a specific geographic area.  Each group chooses a group representative (GR) to attend district meetings.  District 8 comprises all the groups in Chattanooga, Hixson, Brainerd, and Signal Mountain.  Groups from Cleveland and Dayton, TN, and North Georgia also participate with us.

 

WHAT DOES OUR DISTRICT DO?

 

  • Maintains and pays for a phone line for people searching for information or meetings.  

  • Maintains and pays for this website.

  • Notifies groups of Al-Anon events:  Assemblies, Conventions, Workshops,  Speakers, Social Evenings.

  • Purchases and distributes Al-Anon Public Information material.  

  • Organizes and participates in Public Information events.

  • Plans events to bring Al-Anon groups together for fellowship.

  • Supports and participates in AA events, such as Serenity in the Scenic City.
